Android vs iPhone

iOS is a software in the operating system family of Google Inc. It was launched on September 17, 2007. On August 5, 2010, it gained over 500 million users worldwide. Whereas Samsung has taken over the smartphone market with its popular Galaxy series that offers great user experience and features. In this blog, we will compare the two devices i.e. iPhone and android. Both the Android phones and the iphones are similar but there are some major differences.

Differences Between an Android Phone and an iPhone

The difference lies in hardware as well as design. While the android phone has got many apps installed. Apple doesn’t allow applications to be downloaded without their consent. The user would be forced to buy more than one app. This includes games, music, video, etc. There are certain similarities too, for example, both run on OS X. But the biggest differentiator is that only apple is using the platform while android uses Android Operating Systems. Some people prefer apple because they are technologically advanced. And to add the cherry on top, an android phone costs around $300 more than apple phone which also runs on windows OS.

The iOS device works on A11 processor with 64 MB of RAM, unlike other smartphones, which have 1 GB RAM or lesser. This gives a better speed and performance compared with the android devices that run on lower-end processors.

While an iphone is much smaller than an android, it has less memory compared to other android phones. Although, an iphone can deliver fast speeds due to the fact that it works on 64 MB of ROM with higher quality graphics.

Android is widely used by young adults who are getting into mobile phones. They use them more for social networking rather than gaming and web browsing. Hence, most of these iphones run on 4G network connections. However, iPhones running on 3G network won’t run smoothly. That is why it is better to get into android technology. An android device comes with larger storage that allows storing multiple apps and files. Thus, you don’t need your iphone if you want to store all your files in it. As well as giving you the freedom to download any app from google play store that you like. One thing to note is that downloading apps from the iphone stores takes time, unlike android where the process happens much faster compared to windows OS.

Android phones have an LCD display whereas iPhones have touch screen screens. As the name suggests, android’s phones come in various sizes while the iPhone has two sizes namely small i5 and medium i5. Android devices work on WAP 2 and GSM network standards whereas it operates in Bluetooth and wifi. Unlike apple, android phones offer support for multi touch feature and even work on GBM mode. When it comes to camera; android has fewer third party apps when it comes to photography as most of them are not compatible. Therefore, you have few photo editors app if you look up ‘best free photo editor’ then it shows you almost all the available ones. Similarly, apple doesn’t have official developer tools for editing photos. So don’t spend a lot of money on buying extra plugins. Though most of them aren’t needed depending upon your preference.

Unlike iphone, android has no touchscreen when it comes to laptops. For sure, apple laptops are lightweight yet effective. Most of them are designed well and are durable, but android laptops are bulky, causing shoulder and back pains and cause discomfort. Furthermore, most iphone models come with integrated chargers while android lacks them. If you are looking forward on owning a laptop then it is wiser to go with android. Not just because android offers better experience, but also it is cheaper compared to apple laptops.

In addition to above, android devices support several networks compared to iphones. You need an internet connection to use android gadgets like tablets, laptops, desktop computers, etc. And iphones cannot connect to any external network other than cellular data connections. Like, when you are travelling, then you need to connect to WiFi whenever you are roaming outside your home. Also, android has no SIM cards or NFC function that connects to sim cards. Finally, an iphone supports only Wi-Fi/GSM and LTE network.

Android vs. iPhone Difference Conclusion

The best comparison is about Android versus iPhone based on usability and performance. Here are some things to keep an eye out and make a decision whether to go for android or iphone. Let me know if you still have something to analyze!
